Last Saturday the Transhuman Party Germany (TPD) has had a Google Hangout meeting about the current European refugee situation.
We’ve come to the conclusion that technology can help to improve the situation for everyone who is involved, and that these solutions would even have positive side-effects for the population in general. Here’s a short list of the projects that were envisioned:
- A digital refugee ID that could be quickly handed out to all refugees in Europe.
- Education courses as smartphone apps – especially language courses.
- 3d printing housing for very moderate prices.
Especially the first project looks doable at least partially with some modest amount of effort. For this we need people who think about the design and functionality of those digital IDs. Perhaps there are already comparable initiatives running. In that case, research and coordination would be valuable.
