I’ve just installed an extension that is supposed to display mathematical formulas:
$$ \sqrt{4}=2 $$
\begin{aligned}
\dot{x} = y
\end{aligned}
Yes, it seems to work now. Very nice! 
If you want to know how this works, you need to Google LaTeX or MathJax.
