Because people can be convinced they committed a non-existant crime in just 3 hours!
If people’s memories can be hacked that easily, what can we really trust? If we can’t even trust our own memories, then how do we know we haven’t been manipulated to the core? This is seriously disturbing. And it makes a strong argument in favour of memory augmentation through technology.
What about the following slogan: “Be transhuman or live in a lie!” I guess that would be some serious mindfuck.
