AGI vs Transferred Mind

A new sci-fi book Ezekiel’s Brain by Casey Dorman depicts interactions between a handcrafted conscious AGI, and a human mind transferred into a computer. Though the book does not describe details of their creation (as the recent Vera Tinyc’s book does for the mind transfer) and has more Star-Wars-like stuff than I would possibly like, it still creates a very interesting intellectual landscape for thinking about these two major options of humanity’s future. Which of them would you prefer?
